Staying in Dubai This Summer: Building Momentum with ortus
When you start a new business, you quickly realise that timing is everything. While many take the summer months as a chance to slow down or travel, we made a very different decision this year: we stayed in Dubai.
The heat is intense, yes, but so is the energy of this city — and we didn’t want to miss a beat. For us, these early months with ortus have been about building momentum, creating visibility, and showing up for our clients and partners. That meant staying close to projects, people, and opportunities.
This summer has been anything but quiet. We’ve been busy running the Contractors Cup: Summer Swing, which brought together contractors and partners in a fun but competitive spirit. We’ve spent time on-site, watching projects take shape and ensuring our brands are represented at the highest level.
We’ve presented to designers, sharing stories of the collections we represent, and explored how they fit into residential, hospitality, and workplace projects. And through it all, we’ve kept pushing forward — one conversation, one meeting, one presentation at a time.
Staying in Dubai has also given us the space to focus on the behind-the-scenes work of a new business. From setting up systems and ironing out the inevitable teething issues, to unpacking boxes of samples and even turning spare corners of the house into a mini stockroom — it’s been a season of laying strong foundations.
Momentum matters, especially in the first chapter of any business. And while the summer sun has been relentless, so too has our determination to build something meaningful.
Dubai never really stops, and neither have we.
Here’s to the next season — cooler weather, new projects, and even more opportunities to grow.
